Nominate your favorite veggie burgers in Portland

Lo these many years ago, in the year of our Lord twenty and thirteen, I put together an informal poll asking readers about their favorite veggie burgers in Portland.

The time has come, friends, to crown a new winner of BEST VEGGIE BURGER IN PORTLAND.

But, let’s face it. There are about 349537 different places that serve veggie burgers in this town, and I’m not going to go eat them all. I need your help. Tell me what you think is the best. Not what’s just okay, or what you didn’t have to order a second beer to choke down, but what’s really good out there. I need you, my internet friends and readers.

The rules:

  • Restaurants must make their own patties.
  • Little Big Burger doesn’t make their own patties, so they don’t count.
  • Those are the only rules.

But I don’t care for beets, so please don’t make me eat a ton of beet burgers.

Vote for as many as you think are worthy of a top five finish, and let us know about your other favorites in the comments. Then I’ll eat as many delicious veggie burgers as I can stand. And probably fries, too. For science.

  1. Kelley says:

Now I’m remembering the tempeh sandwich at Reverend’s. I don’t remember if it’s in patty form or not, but it is GOOD. Anyone had it more recently?

  2. Erin says:

I was going to say White Owl but since you don’t like beets, I’ve give you a pass and go with my 2nd favorite at the Observatory 🙂 VQ also has a really great one!

    • Erin says:

I also don’t know if I’d list it as the best veggie burger in town but recently had a really good one from Loyal Legion. They served it on the Philippe’s Bread pretzel bun and that increased its net worth dramatically.

  3. Courtney Tait says:

Veggie burgers are one of those things we cook at home a lot, so I rarely order when eating out…that said, I will keep an eye on this list and maybe try your top five (definitely with the ‘science’ fries…)

  4. Susan S. Bradley says:

Hmmm… I’ve actually never had a veggie burger that I liked. So i’m curious what other folks here have discovered.
