Junior’s Cafe

I haven’t been to Junior’s Cafe in many years. Waiting for brunch, after all, is a young woman’s game, best done without toddlers. They used to give you little ramekins of cottage cheese as a snack. Do they still do that? That was cute.

Junior’s is still, as I understand it, a hip breakfast and brunch joint that’s super vegan and vegetarian-friendly. It’s been spoken about warmly in vegan circles for many moons, due to its tofu scrambles. Not every tofu scramble is created equal. Or, go crazy and get two slices of vegan French toast with scrambled tofu and vegan sausage. Damnit, this is why so many people move here, isn’t it?

Pretty much anything can be made vegan or gluten-free–yet—you can add brie or “Oregon chevre” to any scramble for $2.50. Now I feel like taking my chances on some Tuesday morning.

Full bar and Extracto coffee, too.
